Spontivly, a St. Petersburg company known for its analytical community management platform, has reeled in a Shark. $9 Billion Has Been Funneled Into Climate Tech Startups
Venture capital firms funneled $9 billion into 273 climate tech startups in the first quarter of this year, according to an analysis released by PitchBook this week. That was $2.2 billion less than the $11.2 billion invested per quarter, on average, in 2021. This was not unexpected, given the first few months of this year saw the start of Russia’s war in Ukraine, and continued market volatility, rising inflation and recession fears mean we could see further declines in the second quarter. Another tailwind: the rule the Securities and Exchange Commission proposed in March to require publicly-traded companies to disclose certain climate-related risks, including greenhouse gas emissions.

Ken Griffin’s Citadel Is Moving HQ To Miami And Will Co-Develop Office Tower
Billionaire Ken Griffin has announced plans to move his company Citadel to Miami and will develop a new headquarters office tower in Brickell, according to Bloomberg and the WSJ.
Both the Citadel hedge fund and market-making firm Citadel Securities will be relocated to Miami. The new office tower will be designed in partnership with Chicago developer Sterling Bay and will be located on Brickell Bay.
One possible location: 1201 Brickell Bay Drive. The site is the only vacant property on the bay in Brickell and recently sold to an unidentified LLC with a Chicago address for a record-shattering $363 million. 1201 Brickell Bay Drive has approved plans designed by Norman Foster. Construction of the new HQ will be a multi-year process but many Citadel employees have already moved to Miami, including Griffin himself.
