Latin America Ranks As Fastest-Growing Region For Venture Funding
|
For Latin American startups, 2021 was an extraordinary year on the funding front. Venture and technology growth investors poured an estimated $19.5 billion into the region, per Crunchbase data. That’s more than triple prior year levels, which were themselves record-setting. In just the first two weeks of this year, Latin American startups have pulled in over $450 million, according to Crunchbase data.

Miami-Based ApexEdge Raises $4M To Manage Subscriptions
|
Miami startup ApexEdge announced it raised a $4 million seed round led by Florida Funders and the Institute for Commercialization of Florida Technology. The company, a subscription management platform for banks, credit unions and fintechs, enables customers to cancel subscriptions and negotiate bills with service providers. ApexEdge already works with businesses such as Intuit, MetLife and NerdWallet, and plans to scale after its recent capital injection.

Caribou Raises $3M In Quest To Make Healthcare Cost Planning Accessible
|
Caribou, a Miami-based startup, has developed a healthcare cost estimator and predictor tool, and today the founders announced they have raised seed funding to propel their SaaS solution more broadly into the market. The founders spent their first year diving deep to understand the market and developing the product at the intersection of healthcare and fintech that would initially be targeted to financial planners and their clients. The product gathers and analyzes data on a client’s health conditions, insurance, medications and other needs and health plans to help advisors evaluate their client’s financial planning needs.
