With Adtech Taiv, Bars Can Make Money By Taking Control Of Their TV Systems |
Being a Miami tech entrepreneur is an extrovert’s delight, with bars and restaurants playing a central role in our community-led movement. These watering holes are a breeding ground for connections and ideation. Definitely an upgrade from long nights toiling in a garage. That makes AdTech startup Taiv’s a natural fit for South Florida’s tech ecosystem. The Canadian startup lets bars and restaurants harness the full control of their TV screens. Using Taiv’s hardware/software solution, these bars can swap typical TV ads for ads from Taiv’s network. Not only does this have the potential to net these small businesses up to around $500 a month. Taiv’s system also gives these bars better control over their AV systems, allowing them to play their own content.

| 'Femtech' Startup 28 Opens Miami Beach Headquarters |
Health and wellness startup 28 is heading to Miami Beach. The company, which claims it can connect women with the hormonal phases of their menstrual cycle to improve physical and mental wellbeing, aims to hire 12 full-time employees over the next nine months. The startup's Miami Beach office opening comes a month after it raised $3.2 million in a seed funding round led by Thiel Capital, the investment firm founded by venture capitalist and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel. 28 offers free daily streaming exercises, nutrition profiles and lifestyle tips tailored to each user based on the four phases of their menstrual cycle. Each phase of that cycle brings results in hormonal fluctuations that can impact mood, energy levels and nutritional requirements.

Real And Virtual Worlds Converge With Propy’s NFT-Powered Home Purchasing Platform |
The internet has made it easier than ever to buy major assets like cars, yachts, and even an entire town online in a matter of seconds. Still, it takes an average of 50 days to close the relatively mundane transaction of buying a house. Silicon Valley-turned-Miami startup Propy is flipping the script on the real estate market with its NFT-powered home buying and selling platform. The idea is that prospective buyers can tour a home (in a metaverse environment or in the physical world), see an inspection report – and then purchase the house in just a few clicks. From there, the record of ownership gets placed in your secure wallet. Home purchases can be made in crypto or fiat.

| Property Management Startup DoorLoop Raises $20M |
DoorLoop, a Miami-based rental property management software startup, raised $20 million from Alpine Software Group, a Silicon Valley investment firm. The Series A round adds to $10 million that the proptech firm, led by founders Ori Tamuz, CEO, and CMO David Bitton, raised last year. Tamuz and Bitton founded DoorLoop in 2019 and rolled it out to clients last year. The software allows landlords and property managers to automate services, including listings, tenant screenings, maintenance requests, rent collection and more. The company recently launched its API integration, which means it can work with other software, like Salesforce and Mailchimp.
Bitton said DoorLoop will use the Series A money to double its employee count from about 50 to 100 in the next year, as well as invest in marketing and in the software, and expand internationally.
