Chilean Anti-Corruption Startup Lands In Miami To Bring Compliance To The Blockchain
Susana Sierra, a Chilean entrepreneur, is on a mission to combat corruption at scale. Sierra is the CEO of BH Compliance, a firm that monitors and measures compliance programs for companies. Globally, corruption remains a major issue. It’s also an expensive one, costing the world economy around $3.6 trillion every year. Since the data they collect is sensitive – detailing companies’ business practices – BH Compliance keeps the core of the information safe on their servers. But the blockchain creates a sort of fingerprint for each document. Think of it as a digital way to seal a folder. That way, auditors can prove whether this information has been tampered with.

How Sparkseeker is building 'the world's first healthy social network'
If you spend enough time on social media, you know the platforms have highs – and lows. Now, Fort Lauderdale-based Sparkseeker is betting it can build a social media alternative that has all of the highs – and none of the lows – of platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok. Sparkseeker, currently in beta testing, is a video-centric model free of likes and follows, features that are proven to contribute to cyberbullying. Instead, users – who the company calls "seekers" – can respond to content by posting "thank you" or a video reply. The platform's video model is intended to remove anonymity, another factor that can lead to online bullying.

Global Revenue From Car And Bike Sharing May Rise 40% By 2030
Mobility services including car rentals, ride-hailing and bike-sharing apps are expected to generate annual revenue of $660 billion in 2030, according to a study by the Oliver Wyman Forum and the Institute of Transportation studies at the University of California, Berkeley. The figure represents a nearly 40% increase from the $260 billion in revenue generated in 2020. The services will significantly transform how people get around in cities globally, well beyond traditional public transit and privately owned cars. And with a greater focus on sustainability and alternative energy, such as battery-powered electric vehicles, the services will bring potential benefits for the climate, pollution and the livability of cities.
